Stephen "Steve" D. Wright

Stephen “Steve” D. Wright, age 76 of Kalamazoo, died at Rose Arbor Hospice on July 9, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1946, in Three Rivers, Michigan, the son of Durwin “Dub” and Joan (Warner) Wright. Steve was a 1964 graduate of Three Rivers High School and attended Michigan State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Lakenheath AFB in England. After his honorable discharge, he returned the SW Michigan. Steve was a member of the Three Rivers Police Department for a time before working at General Motors as a press operator. He was active with the U.A.W. as a committee man and worked on different philanthropies. After his retirement in 1998, he was often found on the golf course. He found his love for golf growing up at the Sauganash Country Club in Three Rivers and in retirement he was a member at Olde Mill Golf Course. Over the years he was on a bowling league at Continental Lanes and a travel softball league in Portage. On April 24, 1971, he married Maureen Long. They raised their daughter Erin and were active at St. Monica Schools while she attended. Along with his wife Maureen, his family includes his daughter Erin (Gary) Wright, his grandson Drake Wright, his brother John (Mary) Wright, and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends on Friday, July 14th, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Location, 3926 S. 9th Street.
