Shirley Edith (Rolfe) Grant

Shirley Edith Grant, age 100, passed away February 19, 2023 in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was born October 28, 1922 in Kalamazoo to the late Lovell and Edith (Doney) Rolfe.

Shirley worked as a sales representative for Tupperware Home Parties for 36 years, with several of those as a manager. She loved to dance, and she and husband, Daniel, were very involved in square dancing. In her later years, she organized a ballroom dance at the senior center in Richland, Michigan. When people asked what she attributed her longevity to, she always replied, “Dancing.” Shirley also enjoyed playing cards—some of her favorite games included Euchre, Pinochle and Bridge. She even gave Bridge lessons and was always excited to introduce new people to the game.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Grant in 1995; her parents; her brother; and her two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Sonya) Grant, Lawrence (Joyce) Grant, and Elizabeth (Steve) Hammond; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, where family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
