OLMSTEAD, Sheila S. Of Portage Passed away Monday evening, November 13, 2006. Sheila was born November 15, 1947 in Clay City, Kentucky the daughter of Ernest and Mandy Townsend Hensley. She was a retired school bus driver with the Portage Public Schools and enjoyed decorating, gardening, music, and a passion for dancing. Sheila also enjoyed spending time with her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Hensley; husband, James Olmstead; her children?s father, Larry Yonkers; a son, Michael Yonkers; and a brother, Charles R. Hensley. She is survived by her daughter, Chrystal Hamilton; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Annalie Hamilton; her mother, Mandy Hensley; brothers and sisters, Bobby Hensley, Ron Judy Hensley, Don Julie Hensley, Carol James Statler, Pam Jim VanderPloeg; sister-in-law, Gladys Hensley; former son-in-law, Ed Hamilton; many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friends, Margaret Rhoades and Terry Sonnevil. A service to celebrate Sheila?s life will be held at 2:00 o?clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre, with Pastor Karl N. Strenge of the Redemption Lutheran Church in Battle Creek officiating. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 1-2 at the Portage Chapel. Private interment of cremains will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
