Ruth Marie Hacht

HACHT, Ruth Marie Of Lawton Formerly of Portage Passed away Tuesday evening, December 5, 2006. Ruth was born February 8, 1922 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Paul and Elsie June Genthenburg and had been a resident in Portage since 1946. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paw Paw and enjoyed spending time with her family. Ruth also enjoyed doing plastic canvas crafts, and playing cards. On November 30, 1946 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Leo Hacht, who preceded her in death on February 7, 1980. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Virginia, and Pearl; and a brother, Paul. Surviving are 3 daughters, Jo Gerold Harvey, Hazel Norman Harvey, Marie David Harvey; 4 grandchildren, John, James, Joanna, and Debbie; 5 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Hayden, Hunter, Bailee, and Aaliyah; a sister, Jean Brown Spurgeon; sister-in-law, Michelina Hacht; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Pastor Mark Whittaker of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paw Paw officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday evening from 6-8pm and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Portage Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
