Rowena I. (Lewis) Doyle

Rowena Doyle, age 95 of Kalamazoo, died at Rose Arbor Hospice on January 14, 2023. She was born December 3, 1927, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of J. Vincent and Rowena (Ronan) Lewis. Rowena graduated high school in Lansing in 1945 and attended Nazareth College. She was a telephone operator, worked in bookkeeping and data entry. She retired from Disneyland, where she worked as a Cast Member from 1987-1994. For 30 years, she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Paw Paw and then was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Parish for 30 years. Rowena devoted her efforts to the church in the library, doing laundry, on the prayer chain, the choir, and other positions.

Her family includes her children: Kevin Doyle, David (Kathryn) Doyle, Dennis (Sue) Doyle, and Kathleen Doyle; her grandchildren: Kristin (Brandon) Hanold, Michael (Audrey) Doyle, Katie (Kyle) Centers, Stephen (Abbey) Doyle, Stephanie (Darran) Eubanks, Rebekah Doyle, and Levi (Marianna) Doyle; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara McGee and her brother, David Lewis.

A memorial Rosary & Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S. Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008, with Rev. Russell Homic presiding.
