Rolland J. Wessell, Jr.

Rolland James Wessell, Jr. died unexpectedly Saturday, May 27, 2023, in South Haven, MI. He was born April 20, 1949, in Three Rivers, MI son of Rolland and Alice (Keller) Wessell.

Rolland graduated in 1967 from Three Rivers High School, afterwards he enlisted in the Army serving in Vietnam.

He had a wide range of interests from woodworking to hunting, fishing, camping, to “just puttering around”.  He was also an avid reader. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids and great grandchildren.

Rolland was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Wessell and Timothy Wessell; and grandson, Alex Ruiz. On October 14, 1967, Rolland married the former Catherine Wilcox who survives. Also surviving are his children, Debra (Martin) Ruiz, Jefferey (Lisa) Wessell, Jennifer Wessell, and Jessica Wessell; grandchildren, Tiana, Ce’Nedra, Roane, Amber, Alicia, and Lilianne, great-grandchildren, Kyler, Natalie, Messer, and Easton; sister, Vickie Wessell; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Private committal services will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
