Okeley, Robert Mattawan, MI Passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Age 93. Robert was born in Adams County, Indiana on June 19, 1921, the son of the late Clarence and Lula Riff Okeley. He served in Europe with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed deer hunting and boating. He was married to Natalie Estelle Eldridge Okeley on January 15, 1948; she preceded him in death on August 10, 2012. He is survived by two children, Paul Deborah Okeley of St. Joseph, MI and Pennie Walter Gale of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Jennifer Jason Wray of South Bend, IN, Nicole Brant Schweigert Okeley, PhD. Of Redmond, WA, Bradley Erica Okeley of Niles, MI and Shawna Jeremiah Dail of Colorado; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe Wray, Marcus and Kaylee Schweigert, Addison and Lincoln Okeley and Carolyn and Logan Dail. He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul E. Okeley in 1971. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Minister Scott Burdick will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home in St. Joseph, MI, the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
