Robert “Bob” Duane Morris Jr. was born on April 22, 1954, to Robert and Anne (Stadler) Morris in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Bob passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from natural causes. Bob was the third of six children growing up in Galesburg and the Kalamazoo area. He graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1972 and studied computer technology at Ohio State University. Bob married Mary Margaret Stapleton on August 15, 1987.
Bob was employed by Cablevision of Kalamazoo, and later with the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Kalamazoo before retiring. In addition to having a knack for computer technology and repair, Bob also loved being his family’s historian and archivist. You could count on Bob being present at a family reunion with his many photo albums and detailed memories. Bob was a gentle soul, and is remembered for his thoughtfulness and kindness, as well as his wry sense of humor.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anne Morris. He is loved and survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary, his daughter Sarah (Jason Mickel), his grandson Lennon, his sisters Grace (Harley) Franks and Mary (Jerry) Myeno, brothers Thomas (Jeff Pine), Ronald (Jan), and David (Frank Minervini), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A small gathering of immediate family will celebrate Bob’s life in Kalamazoo on November 18, and a larger electronic gathering is planned for extended family at a date to be determined.
