Kalamazoo, Michigan

Age 92, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on Monday, September 2, 2024. Pat was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1932, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Cora (Adriance) Evans. She graduated from Paw Paw High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Thomas F. Taylor, who preceded her in death in 2020. Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. After her Lord Jesus, her family was the most important thing in her life. She raised five children in a loving and godly home, always being there to encourage them to be the best that God would have them to be. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holidays. Her favorite times were when her family was gathered around her. Her faith in Jesus was always at the center of her life. She was actively involved for many years at Bethel Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher, a deaconess and with many women’s missionary projects. Pat loved animals. She kept chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, rabbits, dogs and cats. She loved flowers and raised many varieties both inside and out. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Evans; sister, Mary Root and sister in-law, Audrey Evans. Pat is survived by her children, Philip Taylor (Linda Esparza), Michael Taylor (Kathryn), Timothy Taylor (Susan), Deborah Taylor and Daniel Taylor (Kerrie Messenger); grandchildren, Scott Taylor (Marilyn), Evan Taylor, Nicholas Taylor (Caitlin), Faith Taylor, Bradley Taylor (Amanda) and Benjamin Taylor; six great-grandchildren; brothers, David Evans and Jim Evans (Mary Ann); sister in-law, Linda Evans; brother in-law, Paul Root and several nieces and nephews. Pats earthly body will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with her beloved husband in a private ceremony on September 10, 2024. There will be a public Memorial Service at Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th St., Portage, MI 49024, on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 am, with a light luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes or Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries.
