Norma Ann Brawley passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, May 29, 2023. She was born September 17, 1947 in Dayton, Tennessee to Harrison Roosevelt and Gladys Elizabeth (Hawkins) Hastings.
Norma was the oldest of two other sisters, Nancy Trumbull and Harriet McMillan. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Norma married the love of her life, Richard W Brawley, on June 12 1965. She was a member at the Church of Christ congregation. She enjoyed gardening, going to church, taking care of her home but her biggest joy was devoting her life to her family and God. Family meant everything to her. She would say that her heart was full when her family was with her.
Norma had four children, Richard, James, John, and Tonja Brawley. A grandson, Cody Brawley; great grandson, Bowie Brawley; daughter in law, Bobbie Brawley and a son in law to be, Lee Roberts. Norma had many special in-laws, nieces, and nephews that she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Brawley; Son, James Harrison Brawley; son, Richard H Brawley; and both of her parents, Harrison and Gladys Hastings.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date with her family in Dayton, Tennessee
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given directly to her son and daughter or mailed to Langeland Family Funeral Home Attn: Brawley Family 622 S. Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007 so they may be forwarded to the family.
