Nina Marie Hamlin

Passed away Sunday morning, January 8, 2023 at her home. Nina was born July 24, 1938 in Bradford, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert and Jennie (Davidson) Bumpous. She and her husband, Tom, were active members of First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, and she worked for many years with Kalamazoo Public Schools.  Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing and many activities that involved her husband, Tom.  She also loved to write and draw, and she fulfilled one of her dreams, recently, when she wrote a children’s book.

On August 18, 1958 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Thomas Hamlin, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Virginia McCann, Connie Lincolmfelt, Robert Bumpous Jr., Murilene Campbell, and Wallace Bumpous. Nina is survived by her children, Kevin (Patti) Hamlin, Debbie (Richard) Willis, Melanie (Neal) Roenigk; 5 grandchildren, Andrea (Eric), Katie (Justin), Ericka (Terrance), Hailey, and Kyleigh; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
