Max Ingersoll

Max R. Ingersoll, of Portage, MI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2024. 

Max was born April 12, 1943, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Robert and Rachel Ingersoll. Max graduated from Portage Central High School and received his bachelor's and master's in education from Western Michigan University. 

Max served in the Navy, where during that time, he met and married M. June Dettmer.  He taught industrial arts in the Kalamazoo school system for 26 years. He loved the Lord and his family, traveling, fishing, gardening, and working on cars in his garage.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gail Ingersoll. 

He is survived by his wife, M. June Ingersoll of 59 years, and two children, Robert S. (Sonia) Ingersoll, of Portage and Maxine E, (Gabe) Chapman of Vicksburg.  Five grandchildren, Bryce, Cayden, Zach, Zayden, Bella, and a foster granddaughter,  along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
