Martha "Joyce" J. (Rogers) Low

Battle Creek, Michigan

Martha Joyce Low, age 90, formerly of Climax, died on September 4, 2023. She was born on January 7, 1933, in Eaton County, Michigan, the daughter of Giles and Beulah (Root) Rogers. Everyone that knew Martha knew her as Joyce. Joyce was a 1950 graduate of Augusta High School and attended Davenport College. She worked for the Federal Center, retiring as a supervisor. She was united in marriage to Donald “Red” Low on June 26, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 2017. Red and Joyce were world travelers, having many amazing adventures. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii. Joyce was a generous woman who enjoyed shopping for herself and others. She was smart and savvy. She was in tune with current events and interested in politics.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Christina Joy Blodgett; grandchildren: Angela (Brian) Schwili, Justin (Sara) Low, Nathan Low and Chad Blodgett; 6 great-grandchildren: Shane (Alyssa) and Brandon Schwili, Coleton Blodgett, Ruby,Teddy, and Nico Low; 2 great-great grandchildren: Peyton and Claira Schwili; and her favorite cousin, Katherine Blanchard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Red, her son, David Low, her parents, and her brother, William “Dick” Rogers.

Private services will be held with an interment at Prairie Home Cemetery, Village of Climax. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joyce's name may be directed to Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 377, Augusta, MI 49012.
