Marqueda B. (Springsteen) Heuser

Passed away Saturday evening, November 12, 2022 at her home. Keda was born August 1, 1934 in Dowagiac, MI the daughter of Lawrence and Bessie Mae (Bennett) Springsteen. She was a graduate of Dowagiac High School and Michigan State University. She started her life working at the green grocer, a family owned business, after that she went to Jacobsons and worked in retail for a while enjoying it along the way. Keda enjoyed teaching and would often be a substitute teacher across multiple school districts. Her hobbies included exercising and playing tennis, hosting card game nights with neighbors, and her biggest hobby was collecting chickens. On March 27, 1954 Keda was united in marriage to her loving husband, Kenneth Heuser who preceded her in death on March 31, 2013. Keda is survived by her sons, Greg (Joan)Heuser, Mark (Colleen Ann) Heuser, Brad (Tanya) Heuser; 4 grandchildren, Jason Heuser (Lauren), Jon Heuser, Molly Morgan (Chris), and Amanda Heuser; and a great-grandchild, Odin Heuser. Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be held from 5:00-8:00pm Monday, November 28 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 411 E. Centre, Portage, MI 49002. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with her husband, Kenneth.
