Lucille M. (Tarnow) Becker

Passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Prior Lake, MN. Lucille was born January 14, 1925 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Herbert and Ethel (Rushmore) Tarnow. As a young child on the farm, Lucille was a hard worker. She was a stay at home mother for Dale and Susie. She helped build Becker Realty with Melvin and later retired from options after 25 years of service as a cashier in the cafeteria. A loving grandmother, Lucille would go on bike rides, canoe the celery flats, and gave no pity to winning a cribbage game against her grandchildren. Together Lucille and Melvin spent many years in their condo in Bradenton, Florida where they enjoyed playing cards with friends. Lucille enjoyed working in her yard, watching the Tigers, and baking.

In 1946, she was united in marriage to her loving husband Melvin Becker, who preceded her in death in 2002. Lucille was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Becker; and sisters, Maxine Smith and Bernice Earley. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Gale “Susie” Becker; grandchildren, Keri (Brian) Colvin, Brian Skalski; great-grandchildren, Brecken and Grayson Colvin; and nieces and nephews, Bob, Judy, Gwen and Doug. Private family interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest South Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Cystic Fibrosis.
