Louise Margaret (Taylor) Mathews

Passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, surrounded by family. Louise was born on July 14, 1949, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to the late Andrew Taylor, Sr. and Margaret VanVleet. After graduating from Battle Creek High School, Louise took some college classes but ended up deciding to pursue a license in cosmetology so she could be a hair stylist. In addition to styling hair, she was also a stock clerk at Meijer for numerous years. In Lou’s free time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, liked listening to Joel Olsteen, and loved her family.

Surviving Louise are her daughters, Laura (Brad) Cosgrove, Dana Tyler; brother, Andrew (Linda) Taylor, Jr., sister Susan (Frank) McClelland; half-sisters, Crystal (Edward) Oliver, Cora Taylor, and Glenda Edwards; half-brother, Patrick Taylor; grandson, Michael Cosgrove; granddaughter, Elyssa Cosgrove, and lifelong best friend, Geneva Crawford.

Preceding her in passing is her beloved husband, Leon Jay Mathews; stepfather, Clyde Kay; brother, Clarence Taylor; sister, Sandy Huyck, and half-sister, Julie Taylor.
