MINER, Mrs. Lois W. Kalamazoo Died early Tuesday morning, October 24, 2006, in Temperance, MI. Lois was born March 17, 1914, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Arthur and Meda Calhoun Burke and had been a life long area resident. Lois was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved being a mother and enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. Lois was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Miller in 1940 and by her second husband, Leon Miner, in 1988. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Robert Miller; a step-son, Michael Miner; a grandson, Tommy Collins; 2 great-grandsons, Eric Kinney and Jordan Kinney; 3 brothers, Harold, Theron and Jessie Burke and 2 sisters, Minnie Franks and Erie Rowe. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Beverly & Harvey Canard of Temperance and Janice & Tom Collins of Kalamazoo; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ethel Crill of Portage and Betty Crill of Plainwell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held 1:00 Friday afternoon at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Michael Eleveld of Berean Baptist Church, officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow services. Friends and family will gather for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family has designated Borgess Hospice and Hospice of Northwestern Ohio for memorial contributions
