Laura Mae Cousineau was born November 12, 1958 in Bellaire, Michigan to the late John and Ellen Heeres, went home in the arms of Jesus on December 6, 2022 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Laura became a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo after moving from Ellsworth, Michigan in 1960. She attended and graduated from Kalamazoo Christian Schools. Laura's earthly passion were her children and helping 'the least of these' children. That passion led her to attend college late in life graduating in Spring of 2020. That allowed her to work with children at preschool touching many young lives. Laura was definitely the feet of Jesus, as she helped others when she could, by buying groceries for others, inviting children to church and making sure they got there. She invested so much time to children and was kind and patient with them, whether it was a family member or a child from work. Cancer came in January 2021 which allowed her to pursue her main passion which was Jesus Christ and making him known to as many people as possible.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Harley Cousineau; son, Tyler Cousineau; siblings: Elaine, Harvey, Ray, Stan, Nancy, Janice, and Steve; 19 nieces and nephews; and many more great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place Monday, December 12 at 2:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00-2:00pm.
