Kevin Hemenway

Kevin Hemenway, age 69 of Kalamazoo, passed away on July 16, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1953, in Evansville, IN. The son of Jim and Mary Ann Hemenway. Kevin was a graduate of Hackett Catholic High School and attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He retired as a salesman from West Main Auto Group. Kevin was well known for his caring approach and compassion for others.  He is also known for his percussion skills in the area. He had played in several bands and local churches. As a person of faith, he consistently went out of his way to help all that were in need, regardless of the physical toll it took on him.  The last few years he was truly blessed with his dog companion, Danny that was always present wherever Kevin was.  His family also included his daughter, Leslie Hemenway; his sister, Jamie (Doug) Ellis; his brother, Jim (Deb) Hemenway; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends on Friday, July 28th, at a memorial service at 2:00 PM followed by a gathering at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kevin may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center.
