Kenneth Lee Miller of Mattawan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, at the age of 76. Kenneth was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on January 22, 1948, to the late Leon and Shirley (Holdeman) Miller. In 1984, Kenneth married Pieternella “Ellen” Lesniak. They were married 39 years.
After graduating from high school, Kenneth spent two years proudly serving in the United States Army. While in the Army, he earned the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Combat Infantryman Badge, Marksman (Rifle), and the National Defense Service Medal.
Kenneth had a passion for sports – both indoor and outdoor. He was an amazing hunter and fisherman. He loved showing off his hunting trophies, which he proudly displayed in his home. He also loved hockey, so much so that he helped create the Kalamazoo Eagles Hockey Club. Kenneth coached many players over the years that went on to play professional hockey. As a grandfather, he always showed pride and encouragement to his grandson, Cody, never missing a hockey game. Kenneth instilled in Cody to always be the best that he could be.
Kenneth loved his family deeply and had a heart for anyone in need. He had the ability to always see the best in others.
Kenneth is survived by beloved wife; his sons, Michael Miller and Jon (Kendelle) Klesko; grandchildren, Cody, Ellie, and Bo; siblings, David (Caren) Miller, Linda Miller, and Dennis “Jack” Miller; many nieces/nephews, and extended family.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; baby boy, Tommy Miller; and brother, Gary “Bones” Miller.
