Kay D. (Pio) Postelwait

Passed away Tuesday evening, November 15, 2022. Kay was born September 23, 1948 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Marion and Lorraine (Lee) Pio. She worked at Perrigo for at least 38 years. She was passionate about her family, loved reading, crocheting, and searching flea markets for trinkets and doo-daddies. She had the most adventurous child-like soul that was always on a quest for new treasures and bringing joy to others. She loved to buy candy for her grandchildren to eat because she couldn’t. Her innocence intrigued, entertained, and brought much joy and laughter into so many lives throughout her lifetime. One of her most special places was her rose garden where she gathered new rose bushes as gifts each year to add to the ones that she treasured from her mother’s own rose garden. There was no greater rose on earth than her, though.

On November 8, 1969 Kay was united in marriage to her loving husband of 53 years, Joe Postelwait who survives. Also surviving are her children, Angela Sawyers, Penny (Roger) Smith, Precious (Tom) Wahmhoff, Joe Postelwait, Jr., Pansy Postelwait; 24 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeannette and Darlene; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren; and 9 brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date.
