Judith (Judy) Ann Hussey Kubeck passed away peacefully and quietly June 26, 2023 in Allegan, Michigan.
Judy was born October 4, 1937 in Vincennes, Indiana the daughter of Richard Lewis and Nellie Coleman Hussey. While growing up in Vicksburg, Michigan, Judy attended Vicksburg High School. Following her graduation she attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan and graduated from the Parsons School of Business.
Judy married her sweetheart, John Edward Kubeck, April 1, 1961. They remained side by side through the rest of Judy’s life. A daughter, Julie, joined them and was their pride and joy.
Judy, an avid tennis player, participated on 5.0 travel teams throughout her early adult years building friendships and enjoying the game as they played. She volunteered for many years at the USTA Boys National 16s/18s tournament held each year at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo filling many different roles during her shifts. She loved to watch the boys play. As a volunteer she was able to watch and meet many of the players who would later represent the United States on the professional tour. Judy also coordinated the tennis leagues and programs for 25 years at the YMCA in Portage MI and assisting at the Maple Hill location in Kalamazoo MI. She did this up to her retirement.
Judith is survived by her husband, John Kubeck, sister Janet Kay Hussey, daughter Juliette (ne Julie) Kubeck Wareham (Alan), and grandson Johnathan.
A celebration of Judy’s’ s life will be held at 10:30 am on 01 July 2023 at the Mount Ever Rest – South cemetery chapel, 3941 S Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo MI 49008. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
