Judith K. Granzow, 84, of Portage, Michigan (previously of Shelby Township, MI) passed away peacefully January 7, 2024.
Born on August 26, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, Judy enjoyed her lifetime love of dinner and drives by the water. Her Irish blue eyes were always smiling with an occasional spy of freighters on the water.
Judy, beloved daughter of Francis and Helen (Cowan) Lavely shared many childhood memories of family and friends growing up in Centerline, Port Huron/Marysville, and Marine City Michigan.
After high school, Judith graduated from Cosmetology School, and relished her on and off stylist career.
Judy was married 59 years to her lifelong love, Stephen Granzow on June 25, 1960. Together they raised their family, settling in Shelby Township. Throughout her life, Judy also shared love and laughter with many close, lifelong friends.
Judith took great pride, joy, and dedication in caring for her family, decorating her home, tending to her beautiful gardens, and cherishing nature's birds. Her family lovingly referred to her as "The Bird."
These are a few of her favorite things...the family dogs, arts, architecture, antiquing, fashion, travel, fishing, and singing Purple Rain in the shower. She enjoyed Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, and old movies...all day long! Judy, nickname "sparkle plenty," delighted in curating and donning "her jewels". And she could never, ever get enough of her true favorite...chocolate!
Judy was "truly" treasured by her family. Her loving, caring, gracious, patient, courageous, sassy, fun-loving legacy shall endure.
