Johanna "Johnny" Leonard

Johanna “Johnny” Leonard, age 71 of Kalamazoo, died on November 15, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Slawi and Hermine (Herbert) Joftscheff. The family moved to the Kalamazoo area and Johnny graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1971. She worked in retail throughout her life. Johnny enjoyed playing pool, fishing, taking country rides to Leonidas, and going to the casino. Her family includes her mother Hermine Joftscheff; her sons: Donald (Judy) Leonard and James (Diana) Jenkins; her grandchildren: Keisha Doosenberry, Chasity Jenkins, Jessica Jenkins, Marissa Leonard, Brandon Leonard, Cody Leonard and Josef Leonard; several great-grandchildren; her sister and brothers: Hertha Klimp, Carl Joftscheff, and Josef Joftscheff; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Slawi Joftscheff, her longtime partner David Jenkins, her sisters Veronica and Maria Joftscheff, and her brother-in-law Donald Klimp. 

Friends may visit with her family on Thursday, November 21st from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Location, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. A graveside service and interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South.
