Joanne M. Hoffa

Joanne Hoffa passed away and is now safe in the arms of Jesus and by the side of her husband, Robert, who passed away August 11, 2017. Joanne taught Sunday School and led Young People’s groups for 9 years at Lawndale Chapel while she was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. She and her husband Robert were members of Westwood Christian Reformed Church. Joanne worked at First National Bank, Upjohn Company, Meyer C. Weiner Company, and she retired from KVO.

Joanne is survived by three children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Marcia & Stephen Merz, granddaughters Rebecca and Kathleen Merz. Robert and Joanne also suffered the loss of an infant grandson, Stephen Matthew Merz born in 1985. Marlene Curtis and grandchildren Matthew and Hailey Ann Curtis and great-grandchildren Rowan and Arthur Curtis, and grandson Jonathan and Evelyn Curtis. Mark and Grace Hoffa and grandchildren Anthony and Abigail Hoffa. Joanne also leaves behind very special friends, Carl and Marilyn Rosema who took such wonderful care of both Robert and Joanne for many, many years. Also, the many other relatives and friends who were always so kind to Robert and Joanne, especially during his 27 years of cancer.

Visitation will be 10 to 11AM Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009 where services will begin at 11AM and a light reception will follow the service. Graveside committal services will begin at 2PM in the chapel of Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Memorials may be directed to The Luke Society – Gracias Honduras, in honor of Dr. Mark and Becky Veenstra and their work in Honduras.
