On the beautiful morning of Saturday, May 25, 2024, Jenna Elizabeth Howard—19—followed the light to her forever home. Jenna was born on May 1, 2005, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Jami and Jason Howard, sister to Jack and Jordyn Howard, granddaughter to Ken and Deb Larson, and Rae Lee and the late Mac Howard. Jenna enjoyed a wide variety of activities whether she was hanging out with her friends and cousins, going to the beach, shopping, dancing, or just grabbing some Starbucks. Most importantly, she found joy when being at home with her family, and her Great Dane Doc Victor who was her buddy throughout Covid, and her heart transplant recovery journey. Jenna had perseverance, was humble, kind, fun, loving, brave, and one of the strongest human beings ever. Jenna graduated from Portage Central High School with the class of 2024 and was accepted into Western Michigan University as an Elementary Education Major. She was looking forward to rooming with her lifetime best friend, Kadyn Mackey. The family will be holding a service in honor of the beautiful life that Jenna lived on Thursday May 30, 2024, at 11:00 A.M at The First Reformed Church of Portage (7905 S. Westnedge Ave) with Pastor Clayton Smith officiating. A private family interment will be held at Mountain Home Cemetery (1426 W Main St) following the service. Memorials in Jenna’s memory may be directed to Gift of Life Donor program and University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center Pediatric Heart Transplant Program C.S Mott Children’s Hospital.
