CAGLE, James M. Kalamazoo Died December 29, 2006 at Borgess Nursing Home. Jim was born September 10, 1920 in Winston, AL, the son of Jack and Mary Lou Bowling Cagle and had lived in Kalamazoo since 1953. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II where was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 15 years at the Buck Chuck Company. Jim was a member of the V.F.W. Post #827. His wife Bernice preceded him in death on November 29, 2004. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hack and Newman and by a sister I.V. Surviving are 6 children, Hershel Cagle, Lee Sandy Cagle, Reba Douglas, Donnie Cagle, Billy Cagle and Darlene Mike Newnum, all of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Idra, Estell, L.E. and Lisa; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. 343-1508 with Pastor John Vick officiating. Interment will follow at 12 Noon at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with military honors by the Ft. Custer Honor Guard and the U.S. Army. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Jim?s memory may be made to Borgess Nursing Home or the American Heart Association.
