Jacqualyn "Jackie" Klepper

Kalamazoo, Michigan

Jacqualyn Klepper, age 75 of Kalamazoo, died on March 16, 2024. She was born on August 11, 1948, in Kalamazoo, MI, to Richard “Dick” and Marilyn (Noteboom) Klepper. She graduated as the salutatorian from Mattawan High School in 1966 and earned her teaching degree from Central Michigan University. After graduating with her elementary teaching degree, Jackie moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and taught at the Pueblas People’s Community. She relocated to Black River Falls, Wisconsin and taught at the Ho/Chunk Nation. Coming back to Michigan, Jackie found her place at Gull Lake Community Schools, in Richland Elementary. Jackie taught first grade and then Kindergarten, for most of her career. Her love for learning and teaching led her to earn her master’s degree in education from Western Michigan University. She was an active member of the Gull Lake Area United Methodist Church, an avid crocheter of baby blankets and was a generous giver to those in need. 

Jackie’s heart was full of love for Jesus and her love for children and her students. She is survived by her children: Patricia (Kevin) Allred of Berrien Springs, MI, Barbara Klepper of Portage, MI, Raymond Klepper of Grand Haven, MI, Larry (Nikki Dean) Klepper of Kalamazoo, MI, Tanya Prather of Portage, MI, and Victoria (James Wise, Jr.) Klepper of Kalamazoo, MI; her siblings: Jerry (Christine) Klepper and Brian (Nancy) Klepper all of Silver Lake, MI and Lori Berson of Cibolo, TX; her seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Friends may visit with her family on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Location, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, where her service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:30 AM. A burial will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center, Rose Arbor Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
