Ines Foecking, nee Stein
of Portage, MI Passed away on January 22, 2009 at Kairos Hospice. She exhibited tremendous courage throughout her 20-month battle against brain cancer. Ines was born on June 25, 1942 in Berlin, Germany, the
daughter of the late Alfred and Viktoria Stein. She was the cherished spouse of Daniel Foecking for 38 years and the devoted mother to son Steven Foecking. She is also survived by her brother Alfred Stein
Ute, nephew Alexander Stein Gabi, and niece Natalia Stein-Hoffmann Kai. Throughout life, Ines viewed everyone as equal, special, and beautiful. She loved angel figurines, house cats, and lady bugs.
Ines was much beloved by her large extended family and her friends. Her humor, generosity, and pragmatic nature provided comfort and warmth to all who knew her. Our loss is heaven's gain. Friends will be received on Monday, January 26, 2009 from 4 to 7 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street in Kalamazoo. A memorial service in Germany will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, the family requests, as an act of kindness, that you give of your time to a person who may be in need, as God would lead you to do.
