I-Ying Tsui

I-Ying Tsui, age 89 of Portage, Michigan peacefully gained her wings on October 22, 2022 surrounded by the presence of her loved ones. A graduate of Tai Pei University, I-Ying was a teacher in every aspect of her life. She treated every person that came across her path as not only a student, but family, teaching each one life lessons, and fundamentals that would be remembered and cherished for a lifetime. Her inspiration and knowledge of academics, cooking, and life are irreplaceable and fondly remembered by many. I-Ying was blessed to have 3 sons of her own but will fondly be remembered as Mom by many more. I-Ying was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Shu Tung, and sister Ellen Stolz. She is survived by her brothers, Yih-Ching “David” Lou, Paul Lou, and sister Amy Lou; 3 sons, Joseph, John (Shelli), and Joshua (Cristy). Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Joanna Carpenter, Bryana (Tailer) Deal, Bradyn (Dan) Bracken, Joseph (Hannah) Tsui, Christopher Tsui, Nathan Tsui, Nadia Tsui & Laura Tsui. I-Ying was also blessed with, and survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Rowan Deal, Gracynne Deal, Sophia Bracken, Kadyn Deal, and Quinn Bracken. Faith was extremely important in her life, and she was a long-time member of Kalamazoo Chinese Christian Church, where she will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place in the Spring of 2023. Arrangements entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
