KUIPER, Gordon J. Of Mattawan Passed away Saturday evening, November 11, 2006. Gordy was born February 19, 1951 in Kalamazoo the son of Homer and Etta Hoekstra Kuiper and had been a life long resident in the Kalamazoo area. Gordy was employed as a machinist with the Eaton Filtration Corp. formerly known as Ronnigen-Petter. He was a huge car buff and enjoyed all aspects of cars, whether he was working on them, driving them or just looking at them. He also enjoyed being with his family, and traveling. On December 18, 1982 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Ginger Kissau who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Jamie Hopper; 4 sisters, Janice Alvin Taylor, Cindy Ken VandenBerg, Eunice Ted Recker, Debbie Pat Repeck; sister-in-law, Cathy Gordon Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Gordy?s life will be held 4:00 o?clock Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street with Pastor Barbara VanEck officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Private interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Borgess VNA Hospice, Constance Brown Hearing Centers, or the charity of your choice.
