Geraldine "Gerri" Green

Geraldine M. “Gerri “(McCann/Alley) Green, age 92 of Fulton, Michigan, gained her angel wings on October 10, 2023, at home surrounded by her daughters.

Gerri was born on February 8, 1931, to the late Albert & Helen (Edwards) McCann in Detroit, Michigan. She worked for the Federal government, eventually rising to Chief Procurement officer for the VA from which she retired. While in Florida, she served as a volunteer for the local hospice. She was an avid book reader, she loved solving crossword puzzles, word search and sudoku.

Gerri spent many precious hours with her family. She will be remembered most for her spontaneous sense of humor, love of family and generosity.

In 1948 she was united in marriage to Carl W. Alley of Lawton. Carl and Gerri had three daughters, Cheryl, Ruth, and Christine.

In December of 1998 she married Budford J. Green.

Gerri was proceeded in death by her husband: Bud whom she lost in 2008; sisters: Barbara Grieble, Joan Hammel, and Margel McCann.

Gerri is survived by her daughters: Cheryl A. (Scott) Ewing, Ruth A. Munich, and Christine A. Westbrook; grandchildren: Troy C. (Janie) Johnson, Sky W. Johnson, Amy Ewing, William Hensell, Ian (Jessica) Westbrook, Ethan (Cariad) Westbrook, Chris (Melissa) Ewing, and Steven Prindle; step children: Suzanne Shauer, Diane (Jon) Dobratz, David (Sue) Green, Lorianne (Tim) Shaver, Timothy (Ava) Green; and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Gerri will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Service on 3926 S. 9th Street in Kalamazoo on Monday October 16, 2023, at 5:00 PM with Msgr. Leo Cartagena officiating. Visitation will follow from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
