Frederick L. Schroeder, age 75 of South Haven, died at Rose Arbor Hospice Home on June 14, 2023. He was born April 11, 1948, in Kalamazoo, the son of Orville and Margaret (Willis) Schroeder. Fred was a 1966 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Kalamazoo to start a family and worked at Lemer Service Station. Fred retired from Consumers Energy. He began driving for the Max Bus in Holland, a senior transport. Fred was a devout Christian and was a member of the Glenn United Methodist Church. He enjoyed meeting friends for breakfast on a regular basis. His family includes his children: Kelley (Mike) Pineau and Kerry (Mike) Brueck; his grandchildren: Michael Pineau, Jr., Megan (Ted) Miller, Jacob Brueck, Collin Brueck, and Kaitlin Brueck; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Orville, Robert and Marilyn. The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 22nd, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. A graveside service with military honors will be held following at 2:00 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Please share memories of Fred with his family at www.langelands.com
