Evelyn Letha (Beaty) Livingston

Evelyn Letha Livingston, age 101, passed away January 3, 2023, in Kalamazoo at Rose Arbor Hospice. Evelyn was born October 29, 1921, in South Haven, Michigan. She was the daughter of Emmett Monroe Beaty and Elsie Violet (Blayney) Beaty.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Livingston, on November 7, 1992—they were married for 53 years; one son, Russell Carl Livingston, September 21, 2021; daughter-in-law, Mary Hoag Livingston April 1, 2021; granddaughter, Cindi Livingston Warberg, November 24, 2019; and son-in-law, Edward R. Bradley, 2021.

Surviving are four children, Jerome E. (Jackie) Livingston, Sherry L. (Richard) Fry, Joan M. Bradley, Alan J. (Rita) Livingston; and 26 grandchildren: Todd Livingston, David Livingston, Michael (Michele) Livingston, Michael (Annali) Holston, Laura Campbell, Timothy (Lindsay) Livingston, Sarah (Greg) Hiatt, Amanda (Craig) Miller, Angela (Webster) John-Baptiste, Stacie Vanzandt, Jamie (Zack) Littlefield, Chad (Jamie Jo) Vanzandt, Frederick M. Mills Ill, Kimberlee N. Bradley, Yvonne (Dobie) Lindsey, Edward R. (Sophia) Bradley Jr., and Dawn Burnside. Evelyn also has 26 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was a Galesburg-Augusta school bus driver in the 1970's and volunteered on the Galesburg ambulance service. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her lifetime including golf, bowling, painting, crafts, and shuffleboard. She was a shuffleboard pro, going to Ireland and Brazil to teach the sport. Evelyn lived in Florida from 1982-2007. She was, at one time, the first woman president of the Avon Park Winter Guest Club. She also volunteered at ARC resale shop for many years. For the past 16 years, she lived at Hope Woods Senior Complex in Kalamazoo, where she had many dear friends and enjoyed bingo and playing cards (competitively).

A Celebration of Life will take place in May at Hope Woods. A date will be announced later.
