Elaine Jane (Evink) Wade

Elaine Jane Wade passed away peacefully at Maplewood of Sandy Creek on Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born on January 14, 1929, in Holland, MI to William and Jennie (Bronson) Evink.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Melton Wade in 1996.  On March 30, 1998, she was married to Bill Witt, who also preceded her in death in February, 2023.   She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert Morrison, and her siblings Marvin Evink, Dale Evink, Wilma Plunkett, Jack Romeyn, Raymond Romeyn, and Ruth Switzer.

Elaine is survived by her daughters Linda Morrison, Julia Rayman and LuAnn Johnson, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Elaine loved bowling and being a part of bowling leagues. She liked to play Bingo, solve Sudoku puzzles, and enjoyed an occasional round of golf. She was an avid crafter and was very talented at making unique crafts such as glass ornaments and even stuffed animals. She spent her later years traveling to Florida during the winter and returning home to Allegan in the summer. Above all, she loved her family and every moment she got to spend with them.

Services for Elaine will be held on Monday, April 17 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The family invites guests to visit from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and then join them for a funeral service at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow, and burial will be at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center 200 North Park St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
