Elaine (Kitchen) Hodapp

Elaine was born July 20,1932, to Arthur H. and Margie (Kushmaul) Kitchen. She attended Kalamazoo Central High School and graduated in the class of 1950. Elaine married Richard D. Hodapp, her high school sweetheart in 1952 and spent 70 years together. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2022. In her youth, Elaine was employed by Lyons Drug Store as a clerk and also worked behind the soda fountain. She enjoyed fishing with her family in the summer. She was a deltiologist and a charter member of the Southwest Michigan Post Card Club. She loved gardening, being outdoors with nature and dogs. She enjoyed sightseeing in Michigan with daughter, Susan, and son, Thomas, who survive. There will be no services. Private interment will be at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Friends of the Kal-Haven Trail-Wildflower Restoration Project.
