HISCOCK, Mr. Edward R. Otsego Died Wednesday November 8, 2006 at Kairos Dwelling after a long battle with lung cancer. Edward was born May 5, 1949 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Carl and Doris Melvin Hiscock and was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. He graduated from Otsego High School in 1967. Ed began his 37 year employment career as an apprentice with the Steam Fitters and Pipe Fitters Union. Working with the Union was his life. He advanced up through the Union Ranks and had served the past 6 years as president and was still currently president. Ed was instrumental in planning and purchasing the new Union Hall in Schoolcraft. On May 3, 2002, he was married to the former Trudy Phillips Haight, who survives. Also surviving are a son Michael Hiscock of Kalamazoo; a daughter Lory Bob Leslie of Plainwell; 2 stepsons, Jerry Tracy Haight of Otsego and Travis Candrice Haight of Chicago; 6 grandchildren, Colin, Carter, Payton, Rylee, Brittany and Logan; a sister Carlene Ron Dekema of Kalamazoo and a brother John Marilyn Hiscock of Otsego; several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family Friday evening from 5-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. 343-1508 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 o?clock on Saturday at the Plumber and Pipefitter's Union Hall, Local #357, 11847 Shaver Rd., Schoolcraft. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed?s memory be made to Kairos Dwelling, Wings of Hope Hospice or the Plumbers and Pipefitter?s Union to be designated for the Junior Golf Program.
