Donna Jean (DeYoung) Vance

Passed away Saturday evening, July 29, 2023 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Donna was born November 15, 1929 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of John and Enid (Green) DeYoung and was a life long resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a long time member of Westwood Church of God. Prior to her retirement she was employed for several years at Paris Cleaners and for a short time with the Kalamazoo Public Library. She loved spending time with her family. She would get so excited when she received a new photo, especially of her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working on her family’s genealogy. She would bring out her volumes of books and share with anyone that came to visit.

On February 15, 1971 Donna was united in marriage to her loving husband, Bert Vance who preceded her in death on January 18, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Larry and Melvin McCue; and sister, Sevilla Steinacker. Donna is survived by her daughters, Linda (Terry) Smith, Tammy (Lewis Jr.) Whitlatch; daughters-in-law, Cecilia McCue, Cheryl McCue; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-10:40am Friday, August 4 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Graveside services will follow at 11:00am Friday, August 4 at East Cooper Cemetery (Riverview and D Ave). Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Centrica Care Navigators.
