Age 80, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Darlene was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 17, 1943, the daughter of the late Forrest and Evelyn M. (Wellington) Dailey.
On November 11, 1958, she was united in marriage to Paul Kuiper, who preceded her in death on September 28, 2022. Darlene was also preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Kari Kuiper and sister in-law, Carolyn Dailey.
She loved nature and enjoyed watching her hummingbirds. Some of Darlene’s most cherished moments were spent with her family at her and Paul’s retirement home in Walhalla, Michigan. She also loved to play slot machines on her phone and her infamous gin and tonic. Darlene was a fierce protector of her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them all.
She is survived by three sons, Michael (Robin) Kuiper, Greg (Michelle Curtis) Kuiper and Paul (Traci) Kuiper; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Dailey; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Schoolcraft Fraternal Order of Eagles 3531, 11611 Shaver Rd., Schoolcraft, MI 49087. Memorial contributions in memory of Darlene may be made to Lighthouse Autism Center.
