Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was born March 15, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late David and Jennie Williams, and had been a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. On November 7, 1942, Charles married Jacqueline "Jackie" Betty Meyers. Charles made a wonderful life for his family and took great pleasure in spending time with them. He enjoyed his wholesale business, Williams Wholesale Florist, John Deere tractors, and 26 years of traveling south to Texas and Arizona during the winter with his beloved wife, Jackie. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Surviving are his children, Charles E. Williams Jr., Carolyn (Fred) Schmid and Linda Venema; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jackie; and a son, Timothy Lee Williams. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. The funeral service will take place at the funeral chapel at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24th. Rev. James Dyke will officiate with interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
