It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brianna Elizabeth Ann (Cherry) McPherson who departed this world at the age of 30. She was born on July 14, 1993, at Fort Leonard Wood Hospital in Missouri to Guy and Kristie Cherry. She was raised in Comstock, Michigan where she was an active member of the community.

Brianna is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Travis McPherson, their three daughters Macy, Rylee, and Taylon, parents Guy and Kristie Cherry, sister Sanae (James) Aube, and in-laws Scott (Toni) Larose and Shawnda Gillard, Haley, Joey, Justin, John, as well as an extensive network of family and close friends. She is preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Jesse and Jacob.

Brianna was a beloved and devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Part of Brianna’s core values focused on faith and family. Praying to Jesus became a habit that she made sure to impart to her family. She did not limit the definition of family to just blood relations. By opening her heart to you, you knew how important and loved you were. She believed in random acts of kindness and lifting others up. Brianna was a strong and empowering woman which is why she believed in raising strong, independent, and open-minded girls with the hopes of creating a better world for future generations. She coveted a special connection to nature and was a wealth of information and knowledge. She was an advocate for the environment, gender equality, and social justice issues.

Brianna graduated from Comstock High School, Class of 2011, and KVCC in 2019.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Fisheries Biology and Management from Michigan State University in 2022. She was an avid lover of nature and an environmentalist who volunteered her time for the Michigan DNR. She also volunteered and loved to visit the Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery with friends and family. Most recently, she was a youth volleyball coach for her daughter's team at Comstock Youth Athletics.

Brianna enjoyed many hobbies and interests including a diverse taste of music, movies, and games. She had a vibrant and contagious personality with a great sense of humor that will be greatly missed.

A candlelight memorial service is planned for the community to take place at Comstock High School on Thursday 10/5/2023 at 7 p.m. at the flagpole.

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, at noon, a celebration of life will happen. Family and friends will be received at the Comstock High School Colt Center. The family asks that you dress casually. Brianna would want all who attend to be comfortable and to feel at home.

In lieu of flowers, the family humbly asks that donations be made to Wolf Lake State Fish Hatchery in memory of Brianna McPherson.
