MILLS, Brian S.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away peacefully in his favorite chair in his apartment, where he liked to be, as a result of a car accident 26 years ago which left him with a traumatic closed head injury. Brian was born in Kalamazoo the son of Bill and Bonnie Mills and had lived in Portage, Schoolcraft, and Kalamazoo. He graduated from Schoolcraft High School in 1980 where he went to the Silverdome in 1979 for football. He enjoyed running track and went to the state finals several times. Brian was an outdoorsman who enjoyed downhill and water skiing, hunting, and fishing. He was a ski instructor at Timber Ridge and attended many of the Schoolcraft and WMU football games. Brian also enjoyed going to Detroit Lions and Tigers games. Brian was a member of Greenwood Reformed Church and prior to his accident he was a service advisor for several automobile dealerships. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Bonnie Mills of Schoolcraft; his sister, Susan Scott Markus of Byron Center; brother, David Jackie Mills of Mattawan; nieces, Megan and Mindy; nephews, Landis and Ryar; and his beloved dog, "Jasper". A service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at 11:00am Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street with Pastor Jonathan Loper officiating. Friends may meet the family Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm and Monday from 10-11:00 prior to the service. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Texas Township. Memorials may be directed to Greenwood Reformed Church.
