Bette Jean (Berthume) Pace

Bette Jean (Berthume) Pace, 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2022 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on May 31, 1932 in Goodrich, Michigan, to Roscoe and Genevieve Berthume. After completing high school, Bette attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri (now a part of Evangel University), studying Christian education.  In 1953, she married Thomas "Tom" E. Pace of Moberly, Missouri, whom she met at CBI. Bette and Tom had four children and ministered at various churches throughout Michigan, especially in Kalamazoo at First Assembly of God and Grace Fellowship Church.  Bette and Tom’s ministry lasted 57 years, both retiring in 2010 to Maranatha Village in Springfield, Missouri.  Bette is known for her help in the ministry, for being a homemaker, and her abilities to be creative with crafts and floral arrangements.  Thomas Pace preceded Bette in death on December 18, 2015.  Bette Pace is survived by her four children, Cindy Rodgers, Gordon Pace, Cameron Pace, and Lorna Holler; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Suzanne, Stephanie, Alizabeth, Grant, Andrea, and Austin; and nine great-grandchildren, Paisley, Owen, Amelia, Brooklyn, Elliott, Paxton, Pierson, James, and Piper. Also remaining are Bette’s two brothers, Charles Berthume and Gary Berthume, along with many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 10:00am until 11:30am prior to the funeral service at 11:30am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, in Portage.  Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Thomas and Bette Pace Scholarship Fund at Evangel University.  Visit http://giving.evangel.edu/give/ to make a donation.  Please use the “other” fund option and indicate this scholarship for the designated gift.  The family wishes to thank Greenlawn Funeral Services of Springfield, Missouri, for their assistance prior to Bette’s services in Portage at Langeland.
