Benjamin "Ben" Weststrate

Benjamin "Ben" Michael Weststrate passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan. Ben was born on July 13, 1980, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Ted and Coral (Clark) Weststrate.

Ben, a man of unique passions, found solace in the thrill of snowboarding and the harmony of music.

Ben leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his cherished son, Brenan Weststrate of Tennessee; his devoted father, Ted Weststrate of Augusta, MI; his beloved brothers, Alexander Weststrate of Illinois and Christopher Weststrate of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his caring aunts and uncles, Terry (Deb) Weststrate, Candace (George) Dorr, and Tina (Kim) Tucker-Phelps; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Coral Lynn (Clark) Weststrate; sister, Emily Lynn Weststrate; grandmother, Ramona Ruth (Gehrke) Tucker; grandmother, Frances E. (Padget) Weststrate; grandfather, Adrian Weststrate; grandfather, Lawrence Clark; grandfather, Richard Tucker; and uncle, Michael Clark.

Visitation for Benjamin will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with Pastor Jason Olson officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.
