Ada M. (Glidden) Nutt

Kalamazoo, Michigan

Passed away Friday afternoon, April 14, 2023. Ada was born January 30, 1935 in Dowagiac, MI the daughter of Ralph and Vesta (Claiborne) Glidden.

Ada proudly worked in the banking industry for 52 years. Starting with Kalamazoo Savings and loans and stayed with them thru all of their bank name changes. She was a true and honest banker and loved doing things the right way and by the book. She loved her cat Paulie which she always said he was grandma’s good boy. She also loved to garden, watch fireworks in South Haven, enjoy the beach, watch her birds, and enjoyed going to coffee and dinner with her friends.

On August 5, 1953 Ada was united in marriage to her loving husband, John Nutt, Jr. who preceded her in death on November 23, 2004. She was also preceded in death by brother and sisters, Norma Avery, Jim Glidden, Mariam Jonas, and Patty Glidden. Ada is survived by her son, Steve (Joyce) Nutt; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Arnold, Trevor (Mara) Nutt, Austin Baker, Kylie Nutt; great-grandchildren, Preston Arnold, Jackson Nutt; brother, Robert (Florence) Glidden; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 11:00am-12:00pm on Monday, April 24 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 where a memorial service will follow at 12:00pm. A light reception will follow the service in the Langeland Family Center. Private interment will be in Genesee Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
