Roberta June Roe

June 2, 1926 — April 15, 2018

ROE, ROBERTA JUNE
Portage, MI
Age 91

Passed into the blessed hands of her Lord and Savior on April 15, 2018 at her home in Portage. She was born on June 2, 1926 in Inkster, Michigan to Hazel and Floyd Buxton. June was devoted in her marriage to Wayne Roe for 59 years and cherished the many memories of raising their four children together. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings and her husband who died in 2004. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and her house served as the center of family activities until her death. June is survived by four children: Frank (Mary), Sue (Bill) Schrock, Thomas (Elise), and Lorie Roe, Wayne's son Robert (Terri), 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and many years ago a French "daughter" Chrissie Mathaut was welcomed into the fold. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, intelligent, spiritual, loving, generous, creative and full of life! Known as one of the most amazing people on earth to those who were lucky enough to know her! Wayne and June were the successful founders and owners of Roe-Comm until its sale in 1985 to John and Judy Carnego. She was very involved with their business yet had the energy to get her four children to practices, games and rehearsals. Looking back, we wonder where she got the stamina and energy to be so involved. The family wishes to express thanks all who provided care to her at the end of her life. A memorial gathering to celebrate June and Wayne's life is being planned for a later date. In her memory, please consider making a contribution to Lamb of God Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes, or the Portage Order of the Eastern Star.
