Peter Beeke, Sr., age 98, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home. He was born in Krabbendijke, The Netherlands on February 28, 1919 a son of Johannes and Jacomina (Dees) Beeke. His family came to America when he was 8 years old. Peter was a member of Netherlands Reformed Congregation where he had served as a Deacon and an Elder. Peter served as a 2LT in the US Army Air Corps from June of 1942 through 1945. He worked as a self-employed building contractor for 41 years. After retiring he enjoyed custom woodworking, gardening and fishing. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, John Beeke, Christian Beeke and Gertrude VanderWeele and a grandson, David James Beeke. On June 17, 1941 Peter married the former Dorothy Cook. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Dorothy; their four children, David (Randi) Beeke, Peter (Coleen) Beeke, Jr., Beth (Grant) Solomon and Tim (Ronda) Beeke; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private family gathering and service will be held. Memorials may be directed to Providence Christian School.
