Oleta Bernice Stout

September 14, 1915 — July 26, 2018

Oleta B. Stout, 102, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018. She was born September 14, 1915 to the late Mack and Lilly (Olney) Lazarus. Oleta was united in marriage to Benjamin Stout who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a longtime member of the Portage Centre Avenue Church of God where she taught Sunday School as well as served in other various ways within the church. Oleta is survived by her children, Betty (Louis) Helgeson, Judy Adams and Sheryl Parker; 6 grandchildren, Terry (Theresa) Cutler, Tom Cutler, Robert Helgeson, Belinda (Mike) Rhodebeck, Brian Helgeson and Lisa (Michael) Ahlen; several great-grandchildren; nieces, Carolyn Craft, Janice Borton; nephew Dennis Beiswenger. Oleta was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Jeff, Kelly and Tammy Cutler; siblings, Merlin and Melvin Lazarus and Arlene Beiswenger; and son-in-law, Phil Parker. The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 2nd from 11am-11:30am at the Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South Chapel where the committal service will begin at 11:30am. A memorial service will then take place on Thursday, August 2nd, 2:00pm at Portage Centre Avenue Church of God, 1917 E. Centre Ave., Portage, followed by a light reception.
