Passed away Sunday morning, December 17, 2017. Loretta was born November 28, 1934 in Nahma, MI the daughter of the late George and Nancy (Saccator-Toumi) Sherlock. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 20 years as a nurse's aid and physical therapy helper with the Sisters of St. Joseph. Loretta loved the Lord and she attended Radiant Church. She was proud of her Chippewa heritage and enjoyed listening to country music, playing the spoons, and dancing. Loretta also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and doing puzzles and crafts which included sewing, knitting, and crocheting. On November 29, 1952 Loretta was united in marriage to her loving husband, Robert Gouin, who preceded her in death on April 30, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Gouin, She is survived by her children, Rose Mary Bowler, Steve Gouin (Jo Slusher), Joy Gouin (Mike Franklin) Lynette (Tom) Rice, David (Lisa) Gouin, Diane Hostetler; daughter-in-law, Carol Gouin 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am on Thursday, December 21 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre where services will be held at 11:00am. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kidney Foundation of Southwest Michigan, Radiant Church, or the Autism Society.
