Grover Cornelius Brussee, Jr. passed from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the age of 84. Grover was born September 2, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After attending Christian elementary and high schools in Kalamazoo, he served in the US Army, being honorably discharged as a sergeant. On May 6, 1955, Grover married his high-school sweetheart, Eileen, his wife of nearly 63 years at the time of his passing. Grover is also lovingly remembered by his children Lori (and Steve) Ryan, Pam (and Dave) Landheer, Mike Brussee, and Steve (and Joan) Brussee; by nine grandchildren; and by his sister Jan DeBoer. Grover sought to serve the Lord in his earthly life. He was faithful in membership, attendance, and involvement in First Christian Reformed Church and its successor, Heritage Christian Reformed Church. He was also instrumental in the formation of Heritage. Grover was a successful real estate developer of many and various residential and commercial properties, primarily in the Oshtemo area of Kalamazoo County. Grover's hobbies included physical fitness, especially jogging and tennis; and nurturing his family's vegetable gardens, orchards, and tree nurseries. Grover as husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service celebrating Grover's life will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 11 AM at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 2857 South 11th St, Kalamazoo, Michigan, 49009. Visitation is from 9 to 11 AM and a light luncheon will follow. Donations in memory of Grover may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Livernois Road, Suite 410, Troy, Michigan 48083.
